Awesome Song of the Week!

So I've decided to do a music-related post every week or so, and to start things off, I have two words: Bela Fleck.

God, I love this. To me, Bela Fleck is the perfect merge of jazz and folk/bluegrass. I actually saw him perform live this spring at the Nashville Earth Day Festival, and I was blown away. Let me know what you think of the video, and I'll try to find some more interesting pieces of music for upcoming posts.

C'mon, jazz bassoon? Really?!?

Concerning Hobbits

Hey you, do you like Lord of the Rings? Even if you don't (shame on you), you gotta admit, this is pretty cool.

The guy who built this house is named Simon Dale. He built it in four months for £3000 (about $4750) for himself, his wife, and his two kids to live in. It's dug into the ground, meaning that it's insulated from the weather, and was constructed wholly from materials found on his property in Wales. You don't have to be a green freak to want one of these houses. Check out the crazy awesome ceiling.

And he doesn't even do architecture. To see more pictures and learn more about how you can build a hobbit house of your own, check out his site: There's forums, a how-to guide, and other useful resources. I know what I'm doing this summer.

Happy Hobbiting!

This will be a night to remember.

To kick it off, have a video.

How they got those dogs to do that is beyond me. It's awesome that OK Go is using their fame to raise awareness about the need for animal adoption and manage to make a kickass video at the same time. Props to you guys.
